When our church began the process of searching for a new pastor, we quickly realized just how valuable a ministry like Open Door Ministries truly is. On behalf of our entire pulpit committee and Martinsville Baptist Tabernacle, I want to sincerely thank Mike Gross for the role he played in helping us through that journey. Mike didn't simply post our opening and move on. He stayed in touch throughout the process, checking on our progress, answering questions, sharing practical wisdom from his years of helping churches, and faithfully praying for our committee. Open Door Ministries has been a tremendous blessing to my family and my new church family. I was being called back into the pulpit after about a 2 year break, and was praying what direction the Lord would have my family go. A friend of mine pointed me towards Open Door Ministries, so I contacted Brother Mike Gross. After speaking and corresponding with Brother Gross, he told me to just let him know if I saw any church listing that I felt the Lord was leading me to. It didn't take long before the Lord gave us peace and a church to pastor. 

I cannot express how important this ministry is, and has the potential to be in keeping churches alive and getting men of God behind the pulpit. Brother Mike is a good brother and Open Door Ministries is an absolute blessing.

Bro. Gross and his family were such a blessing in our church during our time of need as we found ourselves in a pastoral search. His expertise and leadership, all while pointing continually to seeking God’s leading, provided a calm confidence as we walked through these unknown waters. Under his leadership as interim pastor, we saw the church not only “survive” spiritually but actually move forward and grow in Christ. His burden for the struggling local church is very evident and I believe God is using his ministry greatly. In October of 2018, our church had the unfortunate experience to suddenly be left without a pastor. It was a trying time for our church, but we came together and prayed for guidance. During the next twenty-one months, although we met and made many new friends over this course of time, we were unsuccessful in locating the man God had for us. In July 2020 we were given the name of a man named Mike Gross who has a ministry called Open Door Ministries that assists churches to navigate the uncertainty that comes with being left without a pastor. Brother Mike immediately began to help. We were given resumes of quality candidates and in August 2020 we met the man God prepared to be our pastor. We are so thankful to Mike and his family for choosing to follow the Lord's calling to help struggling churches. His advice and guidance have been invaluable.
